Role Overview
The Spiro Technician is a pivotal position responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of Spiro's electric motorcycle fleet. You'll deliver comprehensive repair, servicing, and preventive maintenance services at designated service stations and customer locations throughout Rwanda.
This isn't a desk job. As a Licensed Technician, you'll work with cutting-edge electric mobility technology, combining workshop expertise with field service capabilities. Your work ensures that Spiro riders experience maximum uptime, safety, and satisfaction while contributing to cleaner air in Rwandan cities.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Excellence
- Execute high-quality repairs and preventive maintenance on electric motorcycles
- Handle specialized EV systems, including battery technology and electrical components
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues using wiring diagrams and diagnostic tools
Field Operations
- Provide on-site technical support at service stations and customer locations
- Respond efficiently to off-site and emergency service calls
- Ensure optimal performance of Spiro's mobility solutions
Customer Success
- Deliver exceptional customer service and technical education
- Train riders on proper vehicle operation and maintenance practices
- Build trust through quality workmanship and professional communication
Documentation & Management
- Maintain accurate service records through digital reporting platforms
- Manage workshop equipment and ensure tool availability
- Contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery standards
What You Need to Succeed
Required Qualifications
Education & Certification:
- Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical fields
- IRC or PTC certificates demonstrating professional competency
Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in motorcycle repair and maintenance
- Background in electric vehicle systems is highly advantageous
Technical Capabilities:
- Proficiency with mechanical and electrical tools
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting skills for vehicle electrical systems
Licensing:
- Valid motorcycle license (Class F or C)
- Demonstrated safe riding track record
