What You'll Do

As an electrician at JW Marriott Kigali, your responsibilities span the complete spectrum of electrical work. You'll assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures using both hand tools and power tools. Your day-to-day work includes diagnosing malfunctioning systems, connecting wires to circuit breakers and transformers, and using specialized testing devices like voltmeters and oscilloscopes.

You'll also plan electrical installations based on detailed blueprints and schematics, ensuring compliance with the National Electric Code and local Rwanda building codes. Your technical expertise extends to testing batteries in generators and emergency lighting systems critical safety infrastructure that guests depend on without ever seeing it. Beyond installations, you'll respond to repair requests, perform preventative maintenance, and manage the maintenance inventory to keep operations running smoothly.

The Skills and Qualifications We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you'll need a valid driver's license and ideally a technical, trade, or vocational school degree. Two years of related electrical work experience is preferred. This isn't an entry-level position we're seeking professionals who understand electrical systems, prioritize safety, and take pride in their work.

Beyond technical skills, you'll need to demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety compliance. You'll follow all company safety and security policies, complete required certifications, and properly handle materials.
