JOB DESCRIPTION

The Central University Hospital of Kigali (CHUK) invites applications for the position of Infrastructure and Non-Medical Equipment Maintenance Technician. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of hospital infrastructure and non-medical equipment systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Infrastructure and Non-Medical Equipment Maintenance Technician will perform the following duties:

  1. Execute all maintenance activities related to hospital infrastructure and non-medical equipment in compliance with established standards and procedures.
  2. Conduct preventive and curative maintenance on hospital equipment and devices to ensure continuous operational efficiency.
  3. Provide technical interventions on hospital equipment as necessary to address operational challenges and system failures.
  4. Contribute to the development and periodic review of equipment specifications to meet institutional requirements.
  5. Participate in providing guidance for service contracts and maintenance support arrangements with equipment suppliers through the preparation of tender documentation.
  6. Plan and schedule pre-installation works for specialized equipment to facilitate seamless deployment.
  7. Participate in and support the commissioning of new medical devices and equipment by monitoring installation processes to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and hospital regulations.
  8. Review supply chain operations and provide recommendations for spare parts and consumables procurement related to hospital equipment and infrastructure.
  9. Contribute to the development of technical documents and formal memoranda as required to support health sector operations.
  10. Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly and quarterly activity reports documenting maintenance operations, challenges encountered, and corrective measures implemented.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must possess one of the following academic credentials:

Bachelor's Degree Programs (0 Years of Experience Required):

  • Civil Engineering
  • Construction Technology
  • Electrical Engineering / B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering
  • Engineering Survey
  • Plumbing
  • Public Works
  • Quantity Surveying
  • Water and Sanitation

Advanced Diploma Programs (0 Years of Experience Required):

  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Plumbing
  • Construction Technology
  • Building & Construction Technology
  • Building Construction
  • Engineering Surveying
  • Quantity Surveying
  • Water and Sanitation Technology
  • Public Works Engineering (A1)
