Position Overview

MTN Rwanda is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated UI/UX & Front-End Developer to join their IT department. This role combines creative design thinking with technical development expertise to deliver exceptional digital experiences across MTN's platforms.

Core Mission

The UI/UX & Front-End Developer will be responsible for designing and implementing user-centric digital experiences that drive engagement, simplicity, and innovation across MTN Rwanda's digital platforms. This role requires blending creative UI/UX design with front-end development expertise to deliver intuitive, high-performance web and mobile interfaces aligned with MTN's strategic ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

User Research & Experience Design

• Conduct comprehensive user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews to identify pain points and improvement opportunities
• Develop user personas, customer journey maps, and experience blueprints for digital products and services
• Translate business and customer requirements into functional and emotionally resonant design experiences

Interface Design

• Create wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes using industry-standard tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
• Design consistent, accessible, and responsive interfaces aligned with MTN brand and digital design guidelines
• Contribute to MTN's design system ensuring reusability across digital platforms

Front-End Development

• Translate UI/UX designs into responsive and interactive web pages using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular
• Collaborate closely with back-end developers to integrate APIs and data into user interfaces
• Ensure optimal performance and cross-browser compatibility

Collaboration & Agile Workflow

• Work closely with product managers, developers, data analysts, and marketing teams in an agile environment
• Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and product demos to ensure design quality and business alignment
• Deliver design assets timely and aligned with product sprint cycles

Performance Optimization

• Monitor user behavior and product performance metrics to identify improvement areas
• Implement data-driven design improvements based on analytics and user feedback

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Professional Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably in digital product environments
• Strong portfolio showcasing UX research, interface design, and mobile/web projects
• Experience working in agile or cross-functional digital teams

Technical Skills

• Design Tools: Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
• Front-End Technologies: HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS), JavaScript (ES6+)
• Frameworks: Experience with React, Vue.js, or Angular
• Responsive Design: Strong understanding of mobile-first and responsive design principles
• API Integration: Experience working with RESTful APIs and back-end integration
