Construction Supervisor Opportunity: Building Rwanda's Educational Infrastructure

As a Construction Supervisor, you'll be at the forefront of Rwanda's educational development, ensuring that school construction projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on communities while developing your technical expertise in construction management.

Technical Leadership and Quality Control

  • Guide and mentor construction teams by providing technical expertise to masons and workforce members
  • Ensure compliance with MINEDUC standards by monitoring all construction activities against approved drawings and specifications
  • Maintain quality assurance through regular site inspections and adherence to construction norms and standards

    Project Management and Reporting

    • Submit comprehensive weekly progress reports to district authorities and executive secretaries
    • Maintain detailed daily records of work completed and materials utilized on-site
    • Provide real-time updates via daily text messages to District School Construction Engineers and MINEDUC Field Officers
    • Prepare utilization reports for materials at both district and sector levels

      Resource and Environmental Management

      • Oversee materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper utilization and maintenance
      • Implement Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP) to ensure project compliance with environmental standards
      • Facilitate grievance redress mechanisms at the site level to address community concerns

        Professional Standards

        • Maintain the highest ethical standards and confidentiality during and after contract completion
        • Deliver services with professional competence and commitment to excellence

          Qualification Requirements

          • Advanced Diploma in Building & Construction
          • Advanced Diploma in Building & Construction Technology
          • A2 Certificate in Construction Technology
          • Advanced Diploma (A1) in Construction Technology

            No prior experience required - we provide comprehensive training and mentorship for entry-level professionals.

                  Job responsibilities

                  • To guide masons and manpower by giving them technical expertise, by respecting the standards drawings done by MINEDUC;
                  • Report the progress of works on site at the district level every week, as needed, and copy the executive secretary of the sector where you are working.
                  • To monitor if the construction works respect norms and standards set by MINEDUC;
                  • To take care of all materials, tools, and equipment used to perform all duties and prepare utilization reports of materials from the District level and Sector level;
                  • To fill in daily, the works done, and materials used on-site, book;
                  • To have ethical values and secrets at work during and after the expiration of the contract;
                  • To report daily using text message to the District School Construction Engineer and/or MINEDUC School Construction Field Officer;
                  • The Employee undertakes to perform the service with the highest standards of professional and ethical competence.
                  • To ensure project activities comply with site-specific ESMP, Environmental and Social Standards applied to this project and any other safeguard requirements;
                  • To facilitate the functioning of the grievance redress mechanism at the site level.
